The newest president of the United States, Barack Obama, is from Hawaii. Obama went to high school very close to the Academia Language School building!
 With the international spotlight focused on the new president many people are coming to Hawaii just to see where Obama grew up. Many local entrepreneurs are taking advantage of this opportunity and creating "Obama" tours around the island. These tours show where he grew up, went to high school, surfed and played basketball.  Obama also used to love going to Sandy Beach, a very popular body surfing location.  Academia plans on taking students on a "Obama" tour in 2009. Students and a teacher will learn about our new president's family history and the communities in which he grew up in.
